2012 Frostbite Artist cancels, Vancouver act added to lineup
February 15, 2012
The Frostbite Music Festival regrets to announce that Handsome Furs have cancelled their performances at this year's festival. They were very excited about coming to the Yukon and are deeply regretful. Their management sent along the following message on Tuesday:
“The band have had an urgent health issue come up, and will be unable to appear at Frostbite. Alexei and Dan do not take having to cancel performances lightly, and if there were any way to make the trip, they would. Thanks very much for your understanding during this difficult time.”
We have sent our wishes for a quick and thorough recovery, and we are in discussions with their management to bring them up in the near future. We will keep you posted on the developments -
To replace an irreplaceable act, we have (quickly!) dug deep in the well of Canadian music for another artist who could turn on a dime and join our fantastic festival lineup. We are pleased to announce the addition of Bend Sinister to the 2012 Frostbite Music Festival. Vancouver indie-rockers with a piano-slaying vocalist, Bend Sinister strutted their stuff at DCMF in 2009, bringing down the house on Sunday night of the festival. With a new album in tow, they will be rocking the Mainstage on Friday and The Woodshed on Saturday - be sure to swing by to give them a high five for coming up on such short notice!
An updated schedule is online and will be on site. Generally, festival tickets are non-refundable – and we encourage ticket holders to join the party and check out all the fantastic festival offerings - but we recognize there may be a few folks who wish to refund their tickets due to this unfortunate occurrence. Festival pass holders can contact us by phone 668.4921 or e-mail info@frostbitefest.ca to get more information about refund procedure.
See you this weekend at the fest!
