Frostbite Music Festival

The submission deadline for all performers for the 2011 Festival is October 15, 2010.

*Please do not send hard copies unless requested by Frostbite.

Frostbite is seeking local groups and individuals with a special
interest in some or all of the following elements:

1. High energy, danceable music
2. Excellence in musicianship
3. Culturally diverse and First Nations performers
4. Surprise us – new/special projects, innovative performances…

Head down to the Frostbite office in Shipyards Park on May 12 at 7pm for the Frostbite Music Society’s Annual General Meeting. Join the board, offer up suggestions, complaints or compliment, volunteer, etc.

Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone for coming out to, volunteering for and sponsoring the 2010 Frostbite Music Festival. We had a great time and hope you did too! We’ll be adding some photos from the festival soon. In the meantime, check out this great slideshow from the Yukon News.

It’s Friday and Frostbite has arrived! We are all running around happily and maybe a little bit frantically getting things ready for tonight… See you up at the College and the Arts Centre. It’s going to be a great show!

Please note that there has been a correction made to the schedule. On Sunday in the Arts Centre, Dan Mangan will appear at 7:10 pm and Dan Bern at 9:20 pm.

Four more sleeps until Frostbite 2010 is officially underway! We just posted the concert and workshop schedule for your perusal. Make your plans and then make sure you buy your tickets. See you soon!

For all of you yoga practitioners, please join us for a very special event: a free morning yoga class taught by certified IYENGAR Yoga instructor Richard Mueller and accompanied by harpist Oona McOuat.

This session will take place in the Arts Centre Lobby from 10 am to 11 am on Sunday. Please bring your own mat.

Richard teaches regular classes at the studio in the Granger Mall.

Hurrah! Two new Outside bands have been added to the roster: Saskatoon’s delectable Maybe Smith, courtesy of our friends at the Dawson City Music Festival, and le géniale groupe Swing. We’ll be announcing all Yukon bands by mid-week.

Hot dan! Frostbite has just added two fabulous Dans to the bill: Vancouver’s Dan Mangan and L.A.’s Dan Bern. Check out the full lineup here.
